About the artist, Zachary Ingalls:

"Coming from a military family, I don't have one specific place I call home. I have lived in many different states, as well as the countries of Germany and South Korea. My family presently resides in Lansing, Kansas, while I consider Lawrence my current hometown.
I graduated from The University of Kansas in the fall of 2011, with a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Studies. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Historic Preservation through Boston Architectural College, and will complete that degree in the spring of 2017.

I have always had more of a passion for the design of a structure than its construction. When I began this project, I set out to create a rendering or two of some of the historic buildings on the KU campus. What better place to start than with Allen Fieldhouse? This structure is one of the most iconic buildings on the campus, as well as one of the most revered structures in college basketball. The prototype rendering took well over a month to create as I am a perfectionist. I came close, but did not have the end result I wanted. That changed when I was given the opportunity to see the original plans for the fieldhouse. Those plans allowed me to see the details I was missing, and to perfect the image to what you see today. The landscape is intentionally left out so that the main focus is the structure itself. The shadowing of the image is intentional: the shadows are set to March 1st of 1955, the day the Fieldhouse was dedicated."
