Posts of a Mid-Century Kid
By: Ann Vigola Anderson
Anderson takes us on a journey of her childhood in Kansas during the 1950s and 60s.
Using humor and richly crafted details, she chronicles her mid-century childhood adventures with stories like Grandma's huge country garden with perfectly straight rows, tennis, cats, misinformation about where babies come from and grooming experiments that went wrong.
She also shares her struggles and losses like her parents' divorce and having an absentee dad.
No matter what was happening, she remembered her mother's advice: Do your best. Have fun!
Anderson's memoir is clear, delightful and mischievous. Reminding us to color vividly outside of the lines, as well as to do our best and have fun!
Paperback; 276 pages
ISBN: 978-1941237731
