Returns & Exchanges
We hope you love your purchase, but if you don't we are happy to process a new order or issue a refund. An overview of how we handle returns and exchanges is listed below. If you have additional questions, email us at jayhawks@ku.edu.
KU Apparel, Gifts & School Supplies • Returnable within 60 days of purchase in original condition with receipt or proof of purchase • Apparel items must be unworn and unwashed; school-supply items must be unused and in saleable condition • Damaged items may be eligible for return on a case-by-case basis; please contact us to discuss your item Spring 2026 Textbooks & Custom Course Kits are returnable in original condition with receipt until 02/09/26. After this date, all sales are final. Textbooks & Custom Course Kits:• Coursepacks: non-returnable • Shrink-wrapped items must be unopened to be eligible for return • Textbook or Custom Course Kit purchases made after the add/drop deadline are final sale • Course-related supplies and Art Supplies: returnable within 30 days of purchase in original condition with receipt • Unclaimed textbook orders not picked up by the last day to withdraw/drop without a “W” are subject to a 20% restocking fee Tech Shop • Unopened hardware may be returned within 7 days with receipt • Opened or used hardware is subject to a 20% restocking fee • Opened calculators are not eligible for return unless defective Graduation Regalia • All sales are final Scrubs • KU Program Scrubs: non-returnable, but may be exchanged for a different size • Kansas Health Systems Scrubs: non-returnable and non-exchangeable Food, Beverage & Health/Beauty • All sales are final General Books • Returnable within 7 days in original condition with receipt |
Eligible items purchased in-store and online can be returned to a KU Bookstore location for refund of the purchase amount to the original form of payment. If the refund is applied to your credit card, your credit card company may take up to 10 business days to post the refund to your account. Please bring the original receipt or email confirmation along with your return to the locations listed below.

To initiate a return, please email jayhawks@ku.edu and included your name, order number, item(s) you are returning and reason for return. Return labels will only be sent in cases of damaged or incorrect items. You may exchange eligible items by sending them to our address below. Customers will be charged a $9.99 Flat Shipping Rate when sending the exchanged item. To pay for your exchange shipping fee click HERE. Items may be exchanged in-store at any Bookstore location. You may return eligible items to our address below. Pack your return securely and include your packing slip or receipt if possible.
